About ROV DOWN UNDER

ROV Downunder was started on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia by Bill Bulloch in 2005.

Originally from Scotland, Bill has worked with various ROV’s in an offshore capacity for 20-years. Working in the subsea cable and oil & gas industries worldwide, Bill has operated a wide variety of ROV systems including small inspections systems, work class construction, survey and large cable and pipeline trenching systems.

ROV Downunder was originally set-up to carry-out more local ROV work when Bill moved home to Australia.

ROV DOWN UNDER 2010 News

Australia’s ROV Downunder has again teamed-up with US tunnel specialists, Seaview Systems to bring the record-breaking ROV system which carried-out work in Australia in May 2009 at the Gold Coast Desalination Plant, back to Australia for the purpose of water-filled tunnel and associated component inspections in 2010.

The 2009 campaign involved:-

Onshore intake and discharge shaft inspections
Close visual inspections of intake pumps and associated components
3x camera general visual inspection of intake and discharge tunnels, approx. Length 2.1kms
Profiling of intake and discharge tunnels, approx. Length 2.1kms
General visual inspection of offshore intake and discharge structures and surrounding seabed
Access gained to offshore risers, general visual inspections carried-out on intake and outfall risers

Additional services can also be provided as project specific including, but not limited to:-

Anode inspection and testing. Build-up a profile database of anode activity and condition
ROV mountable underwater ultrasonic thickness gauge technology
ROV mounted wire brush and pressure cleaning
Leak detection through black-light and fluorometer detection
Temperature and salinity measurements
Seabed, marine growth and sediment sampling
Maintenance of media and database library
Diver monitoring and assistance
Cable and pipeline tracking
Custom tooling for specific tasks

As well as the Falcon DR system, rated to 1000m water depth, ROV Downunder can also provide other ROV systems for specific task. For example:

The AC-ROV, Micro-ROV. Rated at 75m water depth, the AC-ROV has the smallest swim-through size of any ROV, at just 19cm. The AC-ROV is perfect for providing video from those hardest to reach locations. Complete system transportable in a single 17kg Pelican case.
The Seabotix LBC 200XL. An easy transportable ROV system, fitted with sonar and a small grabber. Perfect for tank and shaft inspections.
