About ROV Downunder

ROV Downunder was started on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia by Bill Bulloch in 2005.

Originally from Scotland, Bill has worked with various ROV’s in an offshore capacity for 20-years. Working in the subsea cable and oil & gas industries worldwide, Bill has operated a wide variety of ROV systems including small inspections systems, work class construction, survey and large cable and pipeline trenching systems.

ROV Downunder was originally set-up to carry-out more local ROV work when Bill moved home to Australia.

T38 LYYN Video Enhancement Unit

OCTOBER - NOVEMBER 2010

ROV Downunder’s Bill Bulloch represented Transpower/Tennet of Germany during the installation of HVDC cables between the Bard and Borwin Alpha platforms on the Borwin Offshore Wind Fram Project, NW Germany. The vessel, Seabed Worker, was contracted by the UK’s Offshore Marine Management to install the 2x HVDC cables between the platforms and Modus (UK) provided the post-installation trenching operations using the very familiar C-Trencher 1.

SEPTEMBER 2010

ROV Downunder, continued its successful partnership with SeaView Systems of the US and completed the initial base-line, full tunnel inspections, campaign of Sydney’s Desalination Plant tunnels. The inspections covered both the 2.6km intake and outfall tunnel penetrations, believed to be a new penetration record, certainly within Australia. Full 3x channel video was captured for full the full lengths of intake and outfall tunnels.

This is the initial inspection of Sydney's Desalination Plant tunnels since it started operations earlier in 2010 and gives the plants operators some bench-marks with which to gauge future plant performance and maintenance.
